The Halo movie may be dead, but it certainly doesn't seem like it. In addition to the live-action series, Forward Unto Dawn, Microsoft has announced that the upcoming launch trailer for Halo 4 will be produced by David Fincher (Fight Club, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Visual effects lead Tim Miller (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) will serve as the trailer's director.
The two-minute trailer titled Scanned will premiere during the October 18th episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Filmed in Prague, the video will take a look at the "emotionally-charged" back story of Master Chief as he encounters the new threat of Halo 4. If you don't want to watch NBC's late night antics, the trailer will also be available on Halo Waypoint and YouTube "immediately" following the broadcast.
"Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories. The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief's journey is an honor," Miller said in a press release. "Our goal is to deliver a blockbuster, Hollywood-quality trailer that raises the bar for the award-winning legacy of live-action Halo storytelling and gets fans stoked for the return of Master Chief."
