Dead Space 3 trailer: 17 minutes of gameplay

Every now and then, something goes forgotten, a delightful surprise waiting to be rediscovered when you first dig your coat out your cupboard the next winter and put your hand in a pocket. This seventeen-minute Dead Space 3 gameplay walkthrough isn't quite that old, released by EA earlier this month, but it is a pleasant treat to discover.

The single-player slice sees Isaac escaping a disintegrating spaceship and seeking sanctuary aboard the derelict Roanoke, which naughty necromorphs have infested. Naturally, amputation ensues. Dead Space 3's creative director and senior audio artist are on hand to commentate.

Dead Space 3 is scheduled for release on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on February 5.

It's the same as the old ones, which are already crazy derivative.

Some people whined when I called it doom in spaceship, but that's what it is. Lotsa gore on the wall, occult in space, spawn in back, monster closets, monsters with twin axes in space... At 6:39 they even put Predator noise in there???

It's a bit worse looking than the previous two. I loved how the first and second one opened, but this one does nothing to further that.

I wouldn't call it DOOM in space. I'd call it more like Resident Evil in space. It's a slow paced shooter/survival (with admittedly too much ammo for the survivial part) loaded with ambiance (especially the sound). I enjoyed the formula, although it did get a bit over used at times.

Well, if all you guys looked at the Dead Space games as one whole game, uninterrupted, maybe you would have more appreciation for it and, you know, relax your sphincters. Sphincter health is very important in gaming.
