Dead Rising producer Inafune pits zombies against ninjas in 'Yaiba'
Keiji Inafune worked on Capcom's big two zombie 'em up series during his long reign as producer there, Dead Rising and Resident Evil, and now he's working on a new zombie game at his own studio Comcept. Having previously sent a photojournalist and a motorcross champion up against the undead masses, his mysterious new game codenamed 'YAIBA' will give them a more memenificent foe: a ninja.

"Everywhere I go, people ask me, 'When is it coming?'" Inafune said in today's announcement. "There are so many zombie games out there, yet people ask me for a new Inafune zombie game. I am grateful for people's respect for me as the 'zombie game creator' and to fulfill that I must answer their expectations with YAIBA."
Brief snippets in the teaser trailer suggest it'll be an awfully bloody affair with bits of platforming, set somewhere in eastern Europe. And your ninja is a cyborg. Release platforms and dates, and all that jazz, are a mystery for now.
Inafune had the idea while looking for "a fresh way to create a novel and unconventional game while still bringing a feeling of nostalgia for games of the past," according to the press release.
"I am not at freedom to disclose the details just yet," the man himself said. "But I am confident you will enjoy this new concept consisting of zombies with action, ninjas and mechs."
