Dungeons of Dredmor dev announces Clockwork Empires
Gaslamp Games has announced Clockwork Empires, a steampunk city-building game.
Dungeons of Dredmor developer Gaslamp Games has announced its next game, Clockwork Empires. The PC, Mac, and Linux title takes place in a steampunk Imperial land full of brass-tipped clothes, cogs, and tinkerers.
But as you might expect, this isn't an idyllic cityscape. Rumors swirl about the government and the Church of the Holy Cog, along with word of extra-dimensional beings watching them. You'll play as a Junior Bureaucrat looking for fame and natural resources.
In the game, this means you'll be building up your colonies with factories and machinery. Your cities will be filled with imperial subjects, each of whom have their own purposes and desires. You'll transport goods with Zeppelins or water-faring ships, each with their own benefits and threats--sky pirates and sea monsters, respectively. It will support four-player co-op, or a round-robin mode to take turns building (and wrecking) your colony.
Release details are scant right now, but Gaslamp should be sharing more details soon.
