Battlefield 3 console servers 'quadrupled'
DICE has announced that it has "effectively quadrupled" its servers for Battlefield 3 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
After months of complaints, Battlefield 3 players will find it much easier to find official servers this weekend--but only on console. Developer DICE has "effectively quadrupled" the server architecture for the online game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The Battlefield Blog warns that Quick Match will still just take you into any ranked server, so make sure you search for DICE in the manual browser to find it. "Remember that you can favorite servers that you like so you can easily find them again on your next session," the post notes.
Fans of EA's multiplayer shooter have consistently asked for more official servers, ever since console owners had the ability to rent and maintain their own servers, setting custom rules that many players dislike.
