Nintendo's next home console, the Wii U, is supposed to be launching this holiday season. And it appears we'll finally get launch details in September.
Nintendo's next home console, the Wii U, is supposed to be launching this holiday season. As we inch ever closer to the fall, we can't help but wonder: hey, what's up?
We may finally be getting our answers in a few weeks. Nintendo has emailed Shacknews an invite to a NYC media event on September 13th. The invite promises a presentation by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime and hands-on time with the upcoming console.
The last time Nintendo held a media event in NYC with Fils-Aime, it revealed the launch details for the 3DS. The event was held in January, and the system launched just two months later--in March. It appears that Wii U may launch within an even smaller window than that.

I understand them wanting to have some distance between the releases of the xl and nsmb2 but they're seriously cutting it a little close here. but that does mean that they'll have near final builds of games so they can give a more accurate impression of what we can expect.
I'm predicting $299 with Nintendoland bundle on Nov. 18th. We'll get the public unveiling of BLOPS 2 with tablet functions, one more game from EA, and maybe a few more games from japanese publishers like re6 from Capcom.
