Andrew Yoon posted a new article, Fortnite is the first Unreal Engine 4 game, exclusive to PC.

EPIC :) get it, any ways this is rad news the more UR4 games we see the better. Looks like our DX11 cards are really going to be important and drive all the new software.
I want to see a gameplay vids big time. The insane thing that video above could actually be all in game engine after seeing the UR4 vids.-

No kidding they are going to be total strangers to the PC if won't even know their name that's for sure.
Has potential to be as good as the samaritan Demo if not better. I would love it if after they make the game and sales are rad and the game is mega quality that they do a lot of comments like " we have neglected the PC it has so much more penitential we are going to take advantage and there will be a lot of more titles planed ". We really could use a crazy PC exclusive that really take advantage of all the new hardware and mid range gear and really is designed for the PC architecture and really tries to go all out and is stills scalable. And one that really can not be created on any other platform.
I hope it happens. Odd it was not at E3 hey in some form?

The Epic of old that released Windows, Mac and Linux versions of UT2K4 on the same SKU, that released mod tools for all their games, that supported LAN consistently and that didn't use draconian DRM doesn't exist any more. It is long since gone. They are not a PC company. Remember us PC gamers, we are all just bunch of pirating bastards. They are ONLY doing this to showcase/sell UE4. Many companies operate on a mix of profit maximisation and other motives. Epic doesn't

Probably true :( they are probably going to try and butter up S and MS to show what their new consoles could be pimping on UR4. But on the same note if they have not already convinced S and MS then that would mean that the PS4 and Xbox2 are really coming out in 2014 not next year.
Huh who's knows what the deal is, I am sure they see the good PC sales numbers and what the market is doing they may really want a piece of the action. Having UR4 they been INSANE not to make pimp PC games I really have no idea why they are not the #1 companies on the PC as far as games since they own UR engine which everyone uses to make games practically.
Weird? Sure they are at heart a game engine company but they could really churn out the most pimp PC games they really have the resources. Must be a business decision eh who knows. -

I am so frickin dissapointed right now. Screw you Epic Games!
Not only did I have no interest at all in this game (looks so silly) but it has cartoony graphics. I don't mind the graphics (love TF2), but I thought this was supposed to be a technologically ground breaking PC exclusive game...and now we get this crap? -

And LOL - "We wouldn't rule out the possibility of other platforms later" - http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/12/bleszinski-fortnite-on-pc-primary-and-first-other-platforms/
Why am I not surpised?-

Why shouldn't they...(:p) I mean, I don't mind if they release it on consoles. It's just that they are being deceiving by saying it'll be PC exclusive with a PC focus when they truly don't actually intend for it to be PC exclusive. Reminds me of Far Cry 2 when Ubisoft initially stated that it'll be a PC exclusive game.

Giant, Nick-Breckon-esque sigh on this, for these reasons:
- It has the potential to Brink itself, to drown the game in customizable items that ultimately coalesce into a meaningless mishmash. To avoid this, they must focus on item balance, but then the microtransaction potential threatens to disturb the balance even further, if they decide to cross that line. When asked if the game was going to be free-to-play, Tanya Jessen said to Joystiq, "We're actually not talking about that right now; we're going to figure it out, and we're going to do what's best." Whatever that means.
- They're pitching this as "something for everybody", with a mix of co-op combat, tower defense, Minecraft-esque construction, and open-worldiness. They can't really expect to perfect ALL of those facets, can they? I'm really only interested in first-person combat, and there's not much chance of them nailing that, seeing how they haven't done any since UT3 (and even then, UT3 lost much of the charm that was in UT2004).
- They're pitching the ultra-colorful style as "a fresh change of pace", but it's really just the polar opposite of Gears grey with tons of bloom. I'm not digging the style; it's too goofy and self-deprecating to take seriously, and not whimsy enough to laugh along with. -
