How hot is The Walking Dead? Hot on the heels of Activision's announcement of a game based on AMC's television series, Telltale has announced a follow-up to its currently ongoing adventure game based on the comic book.

After all five episodes of the current season of Telltale's adventure game are released, Telltale will be producing a compilation that will be available at retail. Then, the studio will be working on a second season. "Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do," senior vice president of marketing Steve Allison said.

With so many differing games based on the popular zombie apocalypse universe, one has to wonder: is it too much? "Regarding today's announcement of a project based [on] the AMC TV series coming in 2013," Allison told The Verge, "as huge fans of the franchise and the show, we're looking forward to seeing Terminal Reality's game when it comes out."

Episode three of season one of Telltale's game will be available next month.

I want them to go on forever. Itd basically be an interactive comic that came out every 2 months.. Might be onto something here. If more companies could do something similar, I wouldn't mind paying 5 bucks every 2 months. I already pay 4 a month for TWD comics.

Wonder what this means for Fables, and Kings Quest?

Fables is already in production so that's fine. King's Quest is probably fine too, they got the rights for it already so I don't see why they would stop working on that now, I think Activision charges a lot of money for licensing their Sierra franchises from what I've heard from people trying to license them.

Woot! wonder if decisions will carry over, probably not. A smart idea might be to make the most popular choices cannon for the next season!

They certainly have all the data.

I hope they just do completely new characters and don't try to make any choices canon.

It can get too difficult to develope a choice altered sequel (mass effect) so it'll be interesting to see what they decide considering people have already started saying they won't play season 2 unless it has Lee and Clem.

People also said they'd boycott Left 4 Dead 2 but didn't. I'm sure people will play whatever sequel Telltale releases.
