I didn't mind the RMAH itself, but how it messed with game design decisions. It's the primary driver behind the always-on DRM, poor Inferno quality drop rates, Inferno difficulty nerfs, and raised repair costs. I suppose it was unreasonable to assume a sequel would be like its predecessor. I've learned my lesson.

At the end of the day, Blizzard doesn't make games just so you smile. The fact is they make them as an investment, and maximizing return isn't unreasonable in any such investment. If you love the game, keep playing. Games are entirely subjective and don't construe anything I say to mean you should make the decisions I have. I'm merely discussing why a group of people might be unhappy with a game that obviously commanded a lot of attention. If they make money in the process of you enjoying a RMAH, then you can be secure in knowing more games you'll like have a good chance of coming along.

End of nightmare then I stopped playing game (couldn't stomach another iteration to grind levels). Two weeks later I heard of the refund program and jumped on it before the window closed. I was disheartened by the absolute need to hit up the AH to find gear vaguely appropriate for my character. I had the unfortunate luck of just finding Barbarian only mighty weapons that had +100 int on them for some reason :P

You should be.
WoW has a $15/month fee attached to it, and a lot of its longevity is built around that. Diablo 3 will be played for 20+ hours and then dropped by the majority of people who purchase it. The longevity is only for a few who like playing these games for long periods of time, which is not the majority of people who purchase it. -
No analogies are required here. You played a game for a fairly substantial amount of time, had your fun, decided it was no longer fun, quit, and got a full refund. It's somewhat questionable.
Where do you draw the line? That's a tough question. It varies slightly. I definitely draw it a hell of a lot earlier than beating nightmare.-
It was more the hope for fun. When a game is locked based on level progression (skills, difficulty, and exploration) it's not unusual to slog through the beginning areas in hopes that the experience will get better. I lost that hope after Nightmare.
If someone handed me a lvl 60 and put me in Inferno, I can bet you I would have put in a whole lot less play time before I found out it wasn't for me. -

so we're back at a clueless consumer buying something despite that had it full disclosure of features YOU WOULDN'T WANT
but you want to consume that content anyway, and then get a refund, then bitch about it
good times, good times! blizzard attack squad rackin' up the kills! got a "REFUND PROGRAM" going and everything! I wonder if your success will translate into other games? what's the next target of your 'buy it anyway, play it, get a refund" strategy???? -
