The Last Guardian coming only when 'absolutely ready'
The Last Guardian was sadly absent from Sony's E3 showcase. Sony has since said that it's working through "technical difficulties," and will only be released "when it is absolutely ready."
One game sadly absent from Sony's E3 showcase this year was Team Ico's stunning The Last Guardian, which we last heard was being rebuilt following the resignation of designer Fumito Ueda. Fear not, though, Sony has said while it's still suffering through "technical difficulties," it'll only be released "when it is absolutely ready."
"I will not give you a detailed update, but I will say one thing. It goes back in my mind to innovation and to gamers and to quality," Sony senior VP of product development Scott Rohde told GameSpot. "That title is going to ship when it is absolutely ready."
"And I think that's a really important thing to remember, that it would be very easy to ship a game when it's not quite ready because we need to meet a business plan," he added.
Sony Worldwide president Shuhei Yoshida shed a little more light on the situation to Eurogamer. "The team is back in Tokyo is working hard, and there are some technical difficulties that the team is focused on right now," he said. "That's why we don't have an update."
Perhaps you should be thankful and enjoy your life before Team Ico inevitably crushes your heart by doing something terrible to that majestic creature. Look, let's all watch the trailer from the 2010 Tokyo Game Show again and imagine how awful that will feel.
