There's a new Star Wars game coming, and as expected, it's dubbed 1313. On the latest episode of GameTrailers TV, Dominic Robilliard, creative director of the project, described it as a game where you play a bounty hunter in the most dangerous part of the galaxy far, far away--an area beneath the surface of Coruscant called 1313.
Unique to 1313 is the collaborative effort Lucasfilm is putting into the game, including tech from LucasArts, ILM, Lucasfilm Animation, and Skywalker Sound.
"The game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world," the announcement reads.
While the latest episode of GT.TV does not include any gameplay, a formal reveal of the game is expected next week, during E3.

Actually, I was/am looking forward to Prey 2 (had no interest in the first). I would prefer an original backstory and setting rather than a Star Wars ground game with no lightsaber. If they made it more like a KotoR or Jedi Knight continuation with a Jedi-based storyline I'd be all in, but as it is it sounds pretty meh.

Hmmm. Setting it underneath a huge megacity? Bringing the scale in to feature a man with his specials skills and gizmos, uncovering a criminal conspiracy (not inventing the force or killing the emperor)?
The Star Wars has pretty much become shovelware at this point and the prequel era itself rather tired.
What if we get "Arkham Asylum'd" with this? A quality title almost from nowhere that stands by itself, despite the expectations of it's IP? Tight visuals and controls. Don't mess with too much expanded universe crap, pick the period around the Battle of Endor during the beginning of the end of the Galactic Empire to provide the backdrop taking place on the surface in Coruscant while we have our adventure below.
visceral batman combat, predator mode rooms and jump-scares as killer assassin droids pursue you through darkened sewers. -

This could be one of the best Star Wars games in over a decade but I have a feeling the suits at LucasArts are going to hold this games potential back by scoffing at innovative developer ideas to gameplay and story arching.
"Take these overlapping subplots and story archs out and just add more explosions to the main story. Remove the ability for gamers to create their own contracts. We'll release 1 or 2 DLC for extra cash and be done with it. I don't care if user create mission means people play this game for years to come. That hurst sales of our other games. Also I don't see regenerating health and blinking arrows pointing the player what to do next. Are you stupid? Our customers are stupid! They need regenerating health and blinking arrows." -

the KOTOR franchise died with SWTOR. Didn't you listen to the developers? SWTOR is KOTOR 3,4,5.
Now, as long is SWTOR servers are up and running and gasping along trying to turn a profit I can't see a KOTOR game coming along.
It's the reason we haven't seen a Warcraft RTS for 10 years and why Elder Scrolls fans should be very afraid, despite what the developers say. -
