Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Vita, Munch's Oddysee HD aiming for June

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath for Vita and Munch's Oddysee are both aiming for June releases, according to Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray.

June may get a double-dose of Oddworld, if Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray has anything to say about it. He announced that he's aiming to release both the Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, and the HD version of Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee sometime during the month, but neither plan is set in stone yet.

The revelations came from an interview on the PlayStation Blogcast (via Joystiq). Gilray pointed out that sticking to that release date for Stranger's Wrath will rely on how QA goes, but he says June is his "intention." The HD version of Munch's Oddysee is also targeting June, for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

It's surprising that both are hitting so close to each other, given that previous reports made Stranger's Wrath seem much further in development than Munch's Oddysee. But, we don't tend to look gift horses in the mouth, so Oddworld fans should have a good month to look forward to.

Holy crap! This may be the only reason I'd ever buy a Vita. I still play these on my xbox, years after I've beaten each.

Hopefully you know that the HD versions are on Steam and GOG.com as well

Forgive me. I'm a GNU/Linux user, so most of the PC-only news passes me by.

I suppose I've also exposed my lack of gaming credentials by now, so I'll just say it: GOG.com, while vaguely familiar, has never been on my radar. Looking at it again, though, I'm terribly tempted. DRM-free is a major selling point for me. Perhaps it's time again for me to beat Wine about the head until it start running some games.
