Aliens: Colonial Marines delayed to Feb. 12
Aliens: Colonial Marines has been moved from its nebulous "fall 2012" window to a more specific one next year: Feb. 12, 2013.
Aliens: Colonial Marines has been hit with a delay (again), this time pushing it into next year. The new release pins the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions on February 12, 2013. How romantic! The Wii U version's release date is still unannounced.
It is a delay from the previous "fall 2012" window, but it's also the first time Gearbox and Sega have put a stake in the ground on a specific date. So, you know, progress. A post on the Sega Blog has some thoughts on the date from Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, along with a new trailer to whet your whistle (plus the little scary whistle inside the first one).
"We've always prioritized the goals we had for the game over any particular launch window," Pitchford said. "The game's development has been invigorating and natural relative to our experience making games and the objectives for it. Because the game was 'announced' with that original press release, it might feel, to those of you who have been waiting for the game since then, that it has been in development a long time.
"In fact, with the release date now set, it turns out that the total development time we have spent creating Aliens: Colonial Marines is about the same length of time as we had spent creating the original Borderlands or the original Brothers in Arms - both games that we had waited to announce until we were much farther along in the development process."

If I had to guess, they need all hands to finish Borderlands 2 so they'll make launch. Judging by the specific date, they're far enough along with Aliens that they'll be able to roll off of Borderlands 2 and finish the game well before the end of January. Sega might also think that pushing it back out of the holiday rush with the heavy hitters coming out (halo 4, blops2, AC3) will help the game sell in the long run. A mutually beneficial move for all involved. Even Nintendo will get a boost here because they'll have a big game to help them through Q1 along with whatever else they had planned.

Quite shocking news today, delay and epic trailer, great job gearbox, maybe they'll improve graphics by the time is out because ... it could be a bit better on the textures and a few effects thrown in.
But nothing is shocking as this: http://www.shacknews.com/article/73888/rumor-wii-u-controller-redesign-leaked?id=28235693#item_28235693
