The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim PC mod downloads top 13 million
Bethesda Game Studios has revealed that the Skyrim Steam Workshop has reached 13.6 million mod downloads.
PC owners peeved about having to wait for the first-on-Xbox DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can take solace by embracing the game's enthusiastic mod community. Since incorporating Steam Workshop in early February, Bethesda has announced it's reached a whopping 13.6 million mod downloads.
Bethesda Game Studios tweeted the impressive number yesterday. We knew that the workshop opened with a bang, garnering two million downloads within its first week. That's only for the Steam portal, mind you, so downloads from third-party sites like Skyrim Nexus are still going strong. It currently touts almost 80 million downloads, and more than 14,000 mod files.
While Steam offers additional spells, dragon bone weapons, and the adorable Wheatley, Nexus offers content of a more risque nature. "No More Blocky Faces," "Better Females" and -- we're not kidding -- the "Calientes Female Body Mod Big Bottom Edition" are amongst the top downloads on the fan community.
Meanwhile, the company announced today that Zenimax Online Studios is working on The Elder Scrolls Online. Just to assure against any confusion, Bethesda pointed out that it's not working on the game.
