Sega is getting in touch with its roots on Xbox 360. A leak from Microsoft has revealed a "Vintage Collection" of the company's action RPG series Monster World. The collection includes Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and the obscure title previously only officially available in Japan, Monster World IV.

The Xbox Live Marketplace leak was caught by NeoGAF before being taken down. It showed off the interface and border that would go around the games, along with a description promising achievements, new trial modes, leaderboards, and recordable game sessions that can be shared and downloaded.

Sega had previously announced two Monster World games for PlayStation Network and Wii, scheduled for sometime between late 2011 and early 2012. Now that they've been spotted for XBLA as well, it's a likely bet they'll hit each platform around the same time.

Shacknews has contacted Sega regarding the leak, and will update as more information becomes available.

This is hilarious. JSR HD on the way, Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia HD remakes likely in development, Wonder Boy in Monster World Collection rumored...it's like Sega is finally getting it...five years late. I'm still stoked, though. All they need to do now is get the Yakuza team to put Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter and I'll finally be able to start forgiving them for all the heartbreak they caused in my youth...

"Five years late" is better than being too early. People are only just starting to download games en masse on the consoles.

En masse, yeah, but didn't Bionic Commando sell really well on XBLA and PSN? Just saying, there's a precedent.
