If you'd like to play Warface, and can stop giggling at the name 'Warface' for a few minutes, signups are now open for the closed beta test of Crytek's free-to-play PC shooter. Crytek's also blasted out a new trailer showing off Warface's player classes, and a nice stompy robot.
To sign up for the closed beta, hold your breath and head over to the official site. Crytek says it'll announce the beta's start date "during 2012"--which isn't overly helpful as that's the same release window it previously gave for the game itself.
Set in some dusty near-future theatre of war, Warface packs both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes.

So I'm a little conflicted with this game.
1) It looks pretty good, but I'm oh so tire of the same 'ol military shooters where the fight is in some dirty, dusty mid east looking area that's more CQC than open area.
2) This is brought to us by the same people that brought us the MP mess that was Crysis 2.
3)I really don't understand why shooter don't take a page out of MAG's playbook and get rid of set classes. No one "really" wants to be a medic,so just give everyone the ability to revive and heal players on the fly without it being attached to a certain class.
4)I'm sick of snipers and shotguns in shooters.
Now with that being said, looks like I have to get a decent graphics card to run it,because I'm definitely going to try it out.
