Star Trek to be co-published by Namco Bandai in 2013
Paramount Pictures announced a partnership with Namco Bandai today, to distribute the upcoming Star Trek game from Digital Extremes.
Paramount Pictures and Namco Bandai announced today that they will co-publish the upcoming Star Trek game from Digital Extremes. The co-op shooter is set to launch in the first quarter of 2013, to pave the way for the J.J. Abrams Star Trek sequel hitting theaters on May 17.
The title features Kirk and Spock working together against an enemy race attempting to conquer the galaxy, presumably with plenty of lens-flare. The story is being written by Marianne Krawczyk (God of War series) along with the film writers Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
"With our Namco Bandai partners leading the distribution effort, we are confident that we will meet an overwhelming demand to get this exciting console experience into the hands of gamers and Star Trek fans worldwide," said Paramount's video game head LeeAnne Stables in the announcement. "The positive response from our initial unveiling at E3 last year was unprecedented, and we are fortunate to have the highest level of production and creative talent on our team that will bring this incredible game out to market next year."
