Street Fighter x Tekken won't have Xbox-exclusive characters
The PlayStation version of Street Fighter x Tekken is home to a number of exclusive characters. But what about Xbox owners? Microsoft has decided against having additional content for their version of SFxT.
The PlayStation version of Street Fighter x Tekken is home to a number of exclusive characters: Cole from Infamous, Kuro and Toro from the Japan-only Mainichi Issho. The Vita version may also star Pac-Man and Mega Man.
But what about Xbox owners? Producer Yoshinori Ono said that the decision to add exclusives on the 360 will "depend entirely on Microsoft." Well, it seems Microsoft has decided against having additional content for their version of the upcoming crossover fighter.
"We weren't able to decide on a character because of differences in timing and things like that," Ono told X360A. "So unfortunately for Street Fighter X Tekken, only the PlayStation family will be getting the exclusive characters."
What characters were in consideration for inclusion in the game? "In terms of characters we wish we could have put in the game, Master Chief or Marcus Fenix from Gears of War would have been really cool, but it was just really difficult," Ono admitted. We wonder what difficulties arose: Spartans made an appearance in Dead or Alive 4, and Gears of War characters should be no less flexible than Bob.
"It's something we wish could have happened," Ono said. "It's just too bad, basically."
