Resident Evil 6 coming this November [update: Trailer!]
Resident Evil 6 was going to happen sooner or later. Apparently, the answer is "sooner." A GameStop employee has snapped some pictures of upcoming promotional displays for use in their stores.
Update: The official trailer has been posted after the break.
Resident Evil 6 was going to happen sooner or later. Apparently, the answer is "sooner." Resident Evil 6 will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 20th. A PC version will release afterwards.
The trailer shows a number of returning characters from the franchise, including Leon, Chris, and Ashley. It appears the stakes are much higher in this true continuation of the zombie-infected franchise.
Here's the story, according to Capcom:
It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

I agree. The reason the QT events caused so much frustration was because they were so few and far between. In RE4 they occurred frequently enough that you knew to watch out for them. But in RE5 I'd completely forget about them only to die because I was kicked back on my couch thinking I was watching a noninteractive cutscene.

Huh, but there IS a PC version mentioned in the announcement unless I'm mistaken? Here's a copypaste:
“Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games,” says the press release, “is very proud to announce that Resident Evil 6 is in full development and scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system on November 20, 2012 with a Windows PC version to follow.” -

I like the resident evil games, but their control schemes have always always always been complete and utter bullshit. You can't move when you're shooting? In a zombie game, where the whole idea is to move away from the slowly coming horde. Move, turn, pause, aim, shoot, move, turn, pause, aim, shoot. To use the inventory was just as terrible, especially in 5.

I didn't, no. A friend started telling me about new chars getting introduced along with another virus or two and the whole story started to sound extremely convoluted and confusing, so I just kept with what I know. RE1(classic) through RE4 makes sense to me, in terms of story flow.
Don't have access to my gamecube anymore, so I doubt I'll play the remake anytime soon.
