Taco Bell giving away PlayStation Vitas
Sony Computer Entertainment America and Taco Bell are partnering to give away codes for a chance at winning a PlayStation Vita, before it hits stores.
The PlayStation Vita is due out in just over a month on February 22, but electronics are expensive. What's a cash-strapped gamer to do? You could sell your blood, or you could down some inexpensive, slightly questionable Tex-Mex food for a shot at winning one.
Sony and Taco Bell announced the "Unlock the Box" promotion today, which will give away one Vita system every 15 minutes beginning on January 26, before it launches in stores.
To participate, head down to your local taco repository and buy a "$5 Buck Box" to get a code. Then go back to your home and enter that code online for a chance to win a Vita prize pack. The pack includes a PlayStation Vita 3G, a memory card, Little Deviants, and your choice of one other game: ModNation Racers: Road Trip, LittleBigPlanet, or MLB 12: The Show. The contest notes those games might not necessarily be available at the time of release, but will be shipped when they launch.
You can also win by playing the Reality Fighters Dojo mobile app, or entering an online contest that will "encourage users to boast about what they'd be willing to do for a PS Vita." Of course, contest rules being as they are, you could also get a free code by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Full details will presumably be available eventually at the contest site, but it doesn't seem to be up yet.
