Battlefield 3 Physical Warfare Pack now available for free on PS3
Previously available as a pre-order bonus, all PS3 players can jump onto the PlayStation Store and download the Physical Warfare Pack for Battlefield 3 for free.
PS3 owners continue to enjoy their early DLC exclusivity with DICE's Battlefield 3. Previously available as a pre-order bonus, all PS3 players can jump onto the PlayStation Store and download the Physical Warfare Pack for free.
The Physical Warfare Pack grants you access to the DAO-12 shotgun, custom flechette ammo for the DAO-12, a flash suppressor for the SKS sniper rifle, plus the Type 88 Light Machine Gun.
While PS3 players can get the pack today, it will be available to PC and Xbox 360 players "at a later date."
The Physical Warfare Pack initially drew criticism for potentially upsetting the balance of the game's multiplayer mode, giving those that pre-order from specific retailers an advantage by giving them a larger arsenal of weapons. After the controversy, EA promised that "we will unlock the contents of the Physical Warfare Pack for free to all Battlefield 3 players later this year." It appears they are making good on their word.

It was already available free on the 360. I downloaded it when I downloaded the recent large patch and the back to Karkland map pack. So did many people. It has now of course vanished off xbox.com.
It’s not that big of a deal anyway. I had already unlocked everything. I think the only thing new in this pack is the Type 88 gun. It seems silly now that it was so controversial.
