"We started from scratch, but with the same pitch," Ubisoft Shanghai's Aurelian Palasse said, "I don't want to take the point of view that our game's better [than Darkworks'] - but first of all it was a CG, so everything was possible, and it wasn't real gameplay. But we liked the pitch, and we liked the way it felt."
Speaking with Eurogamer, Palasse explained how development of the game has shifted since his studio took over. "First it was a CG trailer," he said "It arrived in Shanghai in 2010, and we decided to make it more realistic." The game, Eurogamer details, now takes shape as a survival title with a focus on traversal and inventory management.
The title, which shifted from a retail product to downloadable, is set to arrive this winter on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

WHAAAAA??? OK I'm annoyed at this. I was already peeved that the Nintendo disaster game didn't come to the west, then the new Disaster Report was shelved after the tsunami in Japan, but I had this to look forward to and it seemed like it might have been decent and now it's been tossed to their third string dev team.
I want a great disaster game that isn't sci fi and doesn't have zombies.-
This isn't sci-fi nor does it have zombies.
Also you're a little late on the shift in development; Darkwork Studios isn't exactly some great name in gaming so their version could have turned out to be shit for all we know
We'll never know.
From the one trailer they've shown it looks pretty good; we'll see when it comes out
