Murder, She Wrote 2 coming in 2012
Legacy Interactive announced Murder, She Wrote 2 today, a sequel to the 2010 adventure mystery game.
Games industry, you might as well cancel Mass Effect 3 and BioShock Infinite; we have a new frontrunner for Game of the Year 2012. Legacy Interactive today announced Murder, She Wrote 2, a crime adventure game based on the hit TV series. If you've always wanted to step into the (gum) shoes of a septuagenarian novelist, hoo boy!
The game follows three murder cases in the small town of Cabot Cove, which apparently has absurd crime rates proportional to its size. Jessica Fletcher has to solve over 80 puzzles and piece together clues to solve each crime. You'll also spot such beloved characters as Seth Hazlitt and Sheriff Mort Metzger. Legacy promises 6 hours of gameplay aimed at the show's fans and casual gamers.
Legacy tends to make TV-based games for series that your aunt watches, like The Ghost Whisperer and Criminal Minds. Still, Murder, She Wrote was the original quirky-protagonist procedural crime show, and the first game was apparently a success for the company.
"Murder, She Wrote was a hit in 2010, and we are very pleased to be bringing back the beloved franchise in a sequel ideally suited for the casual gaming audience," said Legacy CEO Ariella Lehrer, in the announcement. "The graphic quality and inventive storylines will delight our customers."
