Unfortunately, the Team Fortress 2 update is underwhelming. No new weapons, a ton of restricted items and only a re-skinned map and a bad one at that. Not to mention they reused the gift distribution which was absolute terrible to begin with and there is already complaints of admins on servers abusing their power to get them while preventing the players from getting to it.

The eyeball hat and book badge are very cool, by far the best looking items in the update. In fact after the pyro, soldier and engie (which are all just ok) the remaining reskins are really weak.
While the axe was just a reskin it looks great. The Saxton mask really felt special. And both previous events had a lot to do for achievments, collecting, and crafting. This update you can potentially get the cheevos in a few minutes and have nothing left to do but hope for a slim shot at a haunted present every 5 minutes.
