The PS3 version of Hydrophobia comes with a number of new features and enhancements over the Xbox 360 original. Hydrophobia Prophecy will add support for the PlayStation Move motion controller, and promises to be "far and away the best looking and best playing version of the game on any platform," according to developer Dark Energy's Peter Jones. "It's in a different league compared to the original release."

According to Jones, not only have many game systems been reworked, the story has been reworked to be "deeper" and more "compelling."

Interestingly, in spite of all the enhancements made to the game, Dark Energy Digital is launching the game for only $7.99. That is a 20% discount over the Xbox 360 original, and a 33% discount over the PC version.

If the budget price still isn't low enough, the game will also be available as a free download for PlayStation Plus members for the month of November.

Hydrophobia Prophecy will be available on the PlayStation Store beginning November 1st.

Supposedly the PC version was improved over the xbox version. If that's true, then the xbox version was god awful because the PC version wasn't very fun IMO.

Well, for its budget price it wasn't too bad. The marketing was definitely way off, though, and apparently for the PC they pretty much wholesale removed an actual aquaphobia mechanic from the 360 version.

didn't they relaunch the game as hydrophobia gold or something on Live, completely overhauling the game?

I call it the "Drowning Simulator." I hope they get everything ironed out because this game gave me a real sense of dread as the water rises. It's really quite remarkable. I hope they finish it, maybe add some more levels.
