Serious Sam: The Random Encounter dated for October
Serious Sam: The Random Encounter will release in mid-October for $5.99, rounding out the three indie games focusing on the character.
Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, one of three announced indie spin-offs featuring the titular character, will release in mid-October. Developer Vlambeer announced the release target today, along with a price of $4.99.
This spin on Serious Sam takes a retro-RPG vibe, offering a party of commandos, hip pixel visuals, and an Endless Challenge mode to survive waves of enemies. The riff on classic RPGs follows Serious Sam: Double D, a side-scrolling action game released in late August, and the auto-runner Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack, which released last week.
"We're big Serious Sam fans and this was a once in a life opportunity to make something truly unique for the iconic franchise with Serious Sam: The Random Encounter," said Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail, in the announcement. "Plus, Devolver Digital promised us matching Ferraris and all the chocolate milk we could drink. We really love chocolate milk."
