"We appreciate the patience of the millions of fans who have been waiting for the game’s release," Dr. Greg Zeschuk, co-founder of BioWare, told audiences at Eurogamer Expo today. "When we launch this groundbreaking MMO with world class storytelling this holiday season, we hope you will agree that it was worth the wait."
While the game officially launches on December 20th, you'll be able to unlock "Early Game Access" by pre-ordering the game at "participating retailers." Once again, EA emphasizes that access will be limited at launch.
Included in the box will be 30 days of access to the game. The Old Republic is being anticipated as one of the last MMOs to use a subscription model instead of the increasingly popular free-to-play scheme. After the first 30 days, players can choose to pay $14.99 per month, or pre-pay $41.97 for 3 months, or $77.94 for 6 months.

The plot of that sence is fine, it's just really poorly put together. The player doesn't react at all to two dudes running up, one of whom has a gun that he shoots his robot with. He does turn around a little when the dude sticks him with the needle but other than the he looks like he doesn't notice or care that he's being assaulted. Also his fu-machu facial hair makes it look even dumber, but that's obviously something that the player did. Maybe he just is exhausted, so much that he doesn't react when people shoot his little robot buddy in the face.
I mean it's an MMO so it's expected (well at least by me) that they have to spread their resources around more than you would if you were making a single player RPG so you can't make everything as polished but it still looks dumb.

Yeah, people have said that the Republic Jedi scenes are pretty bad. Each character class has a separate storyline with a different writing team behind it. From what I understand, the Imperial Agent line is similar to Alpha Protocol (which is good) and both the Jedi Knight and Jedi Consular are on par with the movie prequels.

Yeah probably, it will be a miracle if they hit the date and a huge accomplishment.
We will see, I hope it happens. Its weird one of my sources said 2012 and the other said the same date posted here, so its hard to know which will hit (I am leaning Dec will happen).
Its official now for Dec I really think it may actually happen, time will tell for they could always delay it but it look negative now, since they gave a date too much media what slam it.

I was in a playtest over labor day weekend, and I'll admit the character models are a bit cartoonish, but the environments are quite stunning.
And really... Graphics are not all that... Look at Aion, it uses the Crytek engine and for the most part, isn't much fun.
In any event, I can't wait for Dec 20th.
