The next proper Legend of Zelda game has finally been given a date. Skyward Sword will be arriving on Wii on November 20th, nearly five years since the release of the last big Zelda game, Twilight Princess. Unlike Twilight Princess, however, Nintendo notes that this entry has been "created from the ground up for the Wii console," and will require the Wii MotionPlus and Nunchuck controllers.
"The quest lays the foundation for the events in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," Nintendo's press release notes. Although the game's narrative is a stark departure from the norm--modeled after a "school drama"--it tells the story of how the Master Sword came to be.
"The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the biggest game in the series yet," Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, said in a press release. "We’ve just scratched the surface of this massive experience, and we look forward to sharing additional details with fans as we approach the Nov. 20 launch."
