At today's Sony Gamescom press briefing, the company announced Infamous 2: Festival of Blood, a downloadable title slated for October. The company calls it a brand new game that takes place in the familiar environment of New Marais, continuing the adventures of Cole MacGrath. But this time the monsters are going to be a little more familiar.

If you haven't noticed, vampires are the hot monster du jour, and Festival of Blood will see Cole taking on the town as taken over by their kind. Bitten himself, he will have 24 hours to find the master vampire and stop the blood-sucking menace once and for all. It will be available via PlayStation Store, and seems to be a stand-alone title similar to Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty.
