Strike Suit Zero announced for PC and PSN

Developer DoubleSix reveals Strike Suit Zero, a space combat game with transforming spacecraft in development for PSN and PC.

Developer DoubleSix is currently in the home stretch finishing up development on All Zombies Must Die!, but that hasn't stopped them from announcing yet another game they've got in the works, called Strike Suit Zero. In it, players will pilot (you guessed it!) Strike Suits, which are ostensibly heavily armored spacecrafts that can transform.

Featuring a branching mission structure, Strike Suit Zero has players defending a future Earth from total annihilation. Mechanical Design engineer Junji Okubo (Steel Battalion) is lending his talents to the game's vehicle design, and the game will also include music composed by the award-winning Paul Ruskay (Homeworld).

A teaser trailer and three screenshots accompany the announcement, though surprisingly, they don't seem to reveal much at all about the Strike Suits' transformative abilities.

Perhaps we'll get to see more on that front when more details about Strike Suit Zero are spilled at Gamescom 2011. We'll be sure to keep an eye out.

So much for seeing what the game is like from the trailer.

I'll bite regardless - not often enough I get to see an interesting new space game. Besides, I loved the hell out of Steel Battalion, despite it's rather half-assed storyline presentation - hopefully this will be better.

Oh yeah, I'm still interested. Just a little disappointed I didn't get to see any gameplay.

Oh cool, that guy that did the Homeworld soundtrack knows what he's doing. So we know the soundtrack will rock, at least.

Judging by the screens, reminds me of Omega Boost. Interest piqued.
