L.A. Noire PC version announced for fall
Team Bondi's detective thriller is coming to PC this fall with enhanced graphics, Rockstar has announced.
PC gamers, rejoice! Publisher Rockstar today announced that Team Bondi's 1940s detective thriller L.A. Noire will be released for PC this fall.
The PC port is developed by Rockstar Leeds, and promises "increased fidelity and graphical enhancements," keyboard remapping, and gamepad support. You'll also be able to play it in 3D future-o-vision, if you have the appropriate hardware.
Rockstar claims that L.A. Noire "will run on a wide range of PCs," which is good to hear after the terrible performance problems suffered by Grand Theft Auto IV on PC.
L.A. Noire was released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in May, and has shipped around four million units so far. If you've had your fingers in your ears, pretending L.A. Noire didn't exist until you heard of a PC version, you should check out our review.

I already own it on PS3 but I'm glad more people can play this game. I'm glad that there's a big budget adventure game that's actually selling well too.
I hope that when they do the sequel, which they will since this game sold a ton, they make it non-linear and have the clues and criminal for each case change every time you do it. And also make it that if you fuck up the case, you actually lose instead of just getting a lower score. -

At least I didn't ejaculate into my pants the moment I read the game is going to be released on PC... like the rest of you spineless-game-buying-bad-corporate-practice-approving 12 year olds.
On a serious note - I'll just vote with my wallet and probably pick up the game when it's 5€ on Steam or something. -

It's butchering the market in the sense that many people wanted it on PC. With no early announcement that it was ever coming to PC many people opted to get it for the XBox or PS3. And I suspect many of those are not going to buy a second copy, so the sales on PC are going to be a lot lower than they would have been.

my guess is they looked at the first week numbers, combined that with the knowledge they already had about the state of interest in adventure games on PC and decided the port was worth it.
Also, I think it'd be a bit easier to port to PC than RDR, with all the point 'n click, plus the subject matter is appropriate for the older PC gaming demographic (i mean the older, older end of it, in particular).
Anyhow, it's a fantastic game - you will loooove it! -

The port wasn't that bad, but people unrealistically expected to be able to crank the settings with the hardware at the time and have it run better than the console versions which were on low/med at half the resolution and still ran poor.
LA Noire uses a different, custom engine so it could go either way.
