Assassin's Creed teaser fuels sequel rumors
Ubisoft has been revealing pieces of the next Assassin's Creed game through its Facebook page. So far we seem to have caught the title (Assassin's Creed Revelations) and the name Altair.
Ubisoft may be joining the ARG train, with a Facebook page that drops hints towards the next Assassin's Creed game. Liking the page unlocks a looping Flash teaser. Savvy NeoGAF users noticed a logo embedded in the Flash file for "Assassin's Creed Revelations." Also notable in the file are scrawled words that have been interpreted as "Altair," the protagonist from the first game.
The file is being periodically updated with new scraps of info, and the latest catch is an image of the Phaistos Disc, a famous archeological mystery from Greece in the 2nd millennium BC era. So far attempts to decipher the symbols on the disc have been unsuccessful. This could be a hint of ACR's setting, or just Ubisoft throwing us a curve ball.
Like any good ARG, though, participation unlocks more info. As of the time of writing, the page's "Activity Monitor" is at 6%, and it tells users to "spread the word to reveal the next Assassin's Creed game." Presumably, if it gets enough "Likes," we'll see the full trailer.
We heard in February that we'd see a new retail Assassin's Creed this year, and that more information would be coming in May. This is right on schedule, so all signs point to Assassin's Creed Revelations being the next main AC title, but it could be a Facebook game, mobile game, or otherwise.

mmm the arabic script in the teasers doesnt make any sense.. they arent words... atleast not in order.. might be jumbled.. and i didnt have the energy to decrypt them...
in any case, this news isnt 'news' per se.. we all knew that something was coming.. what i am wondering is, this one doesnt have a number... so it might not be a straight sequel as such...
and if it isnt, then is this set in the same era as AC2 and Brotherhood ?

Nah.
Ezio was just a cocky pretty-boy. The Italian Renessaince version of a Jersey Shore character.
Altair was a more complex and interesting character. He had a fall from grace, a re-affirmation of his faith and philosophy, and was then faced with the truth that the philosophy he had just embraced was espoused by a liar and a killer.
Much better than 'Hey-a, I'm-a gonna get-a some-a revenge!'

Altair ibn al-Ahad is indeed the name of AC1's protagonist. The repeated references to his name suggest more likely that this is another tie-in game, perhaps related to post-AC1 and post-Codex when he heads off with his family to figure out the Genghis Khan situation. Could be interesting, but it definitely wouldn't be AC3, because the AC developers have too much self-respect for such a retread.

Mechanically ASSBRO is the best of the games; I'd take more of that right now and that's coming from someone who likes Altair more as a character than Ezio by far. Given the title (that is, not Assassin's Creed 3) here's hoping for Altair's equivalent of ASSBRO.
I really hope they have the balls to finish Desmond's story in AC3 and not drag that out to another direct sequel. AC4 should be something new/different entirely. It better not be a Templar protagonist. -

Am I the only one that got bored of this game after the second one? I tried to play the third but I just couldn't do it. I played for like 10 minutes and watched 10-15 cut scenes, yea their skipable but this game is just the same crap over and over.
Go up to guy press space bar, ok he's dead, go to the next one while 10 others just sit there and watch.-
You're playing it wrong. Get some variety in there, be the ultimate unkillable badass that rules the Holy Land/Renaissance Italy/Renaissancier Italy, pull out your hidden blade in combat and counter people's attacks by stabbing them in the eye socket, follow your targets by running across rooftops high above them, and never ever attempt to lose a trail by immediately running to the roof, because it's way more fun to lead a merry chase through the streets and duck down an alley unseen to hide on a bench as they run by.
Assassin's Creed games are only as boring as you make them.
