Resident Evil 4, Code Veronica X HD revamps confirmed for fall
Downloadable HD revamps of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X are headed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall.
Vintage scare-o-ramas Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X are indeed being revamped for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as had been rumoured, Capcom formally announced today.
Capcom says that the survival horrors have been "enhanced with upgraded visuals" and offers some dubious "comparison shots" of Resident Evil 4 as proof. Our mind's eye might be impeded by the haze of memory and nostalgia, but we're not certain it ever looked quite so blurry.
While the rumours suggested they'd be released as a retail bundle in Japan, they will in fact be downloadable titles for us Westerners.
The tarted-up Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X are scheduled for release via Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this fall. Pricing has yet to be announced.

well, if they took screens of the original PS2 port (which looked A LOT blurrier than the original GCN version) and then blew that up to 720p or 1080p to match the newly upscaled version's screenshot, then yea, I can see how it could look THAT blurry.
However, the 480p Wii Version doesn't look nearly as bad.

If sharper graphics (and probably achievements) are all the HD editions are offering, I think I'll stick with RE4 Wii Edition, but I'll definitely buy CVX. I have the game for PS2, but PS2 games look awful on my HDTV. Plus I believe I lost the memory card on which I saved my CVX data, so I'm due for a replay.
