With its Next Generation Portable on the horizon, Sony might want to consider clearing out some warehouse space.

Perhaps related, Sony has announced it will cut the price of its PSP-3000 to $130. News of the $40 drop comes from the PlayStation Blog, which revealed so many other discounted items we're surprised the site didn't include video of Howard Stringer screaming "everything must go!" into a camera. Also discounted are "PSP Entertainment Packs," which will be reduced to $160. The PSP Go price will not drop, remaining $200 and on dusty store shelves. Price cuts go into affect on February 27. Piling onto the savings, Sony has revealed a number of additions to its "Greatest Hits" line-up as well as more games for its its even cheaper "Favorites" list.

That's a healthy stack of quality games and Sony could probably use the warehouse space.

I'm seriously considering getting a PSP just for this.
What other good games are there for it?

                Depends on your tastes.

Personally, I think the Metal Gear Solids (not Acids) are quite good, as are the GTAs.
Both Wipeouts and Burnout Legends are worth looking into if you like racers.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is good for platforming.
Persona and Persona 3 Portable are great RPGs.
Me and My Katamari is fun.
Lumines is a good time wasting puzzle game
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max is a rock solid fighter.
Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble isn't a great game, but if you're the kind of person the humor appeals to, its a fun little beat 'em up.

Since it doesn't use UMDs, it's obviously not compatible with those. I remember hearing that your digital games will work however.

Bloodlines was a bit disappointing...a lot like the first Assassin's Creed. It leads up to an event in AC2 and fills in some holes, but otherwise suffers from some really iffy control and small zones :(

Daxter was pretty subpar, which is kind of fitting since it's a companion piece to Jak II (which was equally disappointing). The game is almost entirely pointless fluff and isn't really all that fun.

Killzone: Liberation was pretty enjoyable, but the DLC episode (final episode is a freely downloadable expansion pack thingy) sucked. Liberation was why Killzone 2 on PS3 was originally going to be called Killzone 3, but they figured it hadn't been a big enough hit and that it'd just confuse people. This ain't Final Fantasy and all, ya know?
