No Man's Sky Concurrent Players Near 100,000 Last Weekend Thanks to Next Update

The game is attracting more players now that there's more content out there.

No Man's Sky has enjoyed a massive amount of success since the new Next update made the rounds. The spacey intergalactic sandbox ended up pulling in an impressive amount of players over the weekend, which is a testament to how cool the new additions to the title really are. Hello Games has made one heck of a comeback, as the game amassed around 97,000 concurrent players this past Sunday.

This is just about the total of 2016's launch date when the game first made its Steam debut and hit 212,000 concurrent users, but it certainly isn't anything to sneeze at for a game that's been out for two years already. The new Next features, including co-op multiplayer and other kinds of much-needed updates for the game, have helped it ramp back up into the public eye once more, and it's even seen a shift in improvement from "Mostly Negative" Steam reviews to "Mixed" instead.

Thinking about giving No Man's Sky a try now that Next is out? It's well worth giving a look, especially if you felt disillusioned by what it had to offer when it initially debuted. It's been given a pretty slick set of features that are expansive in scope, and you can discover and name your own planets and other fun things like that. So why wouldn't you want to give it a spin? There's no shoddily-constructed special edition to contend with this time around, so if nothing else it's worth a try.

Highly recommend starting a new game versus continuing from an old save. It's changed a lot.

I'm struggling with this one too. Forums say, save and reload. Does not work for me. Maybe find a console to summon?

I haven't tried this yet, but are there summoning pod things (like at some settlements on planets) to activate with an inventory item and summon your ship(s)?

Should have been more clear, by console I meant those in game terminals they need a technology chip or something.

Provided you've bought them outright rather than exchanged them, and you acquired them after acquiring your freighter, they're automatically loaded onto the freighter. When you're on a planet, you can summon them from the quick menu.

Note that if you acquired them before acquiring your freighter, they're gone.

They're probably not there anymore, but if they are, and you can find them, and you have a freighter, you should be able to just fly down and claim them. You don't need to manually fly them to your freighter.

Oh I never responded to this: my ships aren't on the freighter, I have three but I can't summon them onto it. No idea why. I'm not too bummed about it, and haven't gotten around to attempting to summon while on planet (cos I can't remember where I left them anymore.

You can't summon on freighters or in stations. Do it on a planet.

Aah didn't give any indication that it couldn't be done, just nothing happens (don't get the so outline either). But my ships didn't automatically transfer there either, even after warping elsewhere. I'm not stressed about it but I don't see how your supposed to bring your starships into the hangar except to do it via the space station using the portal. But I suppose at some point I'll get blueprints for the teleporter then I can build one on the freighter then teleport to the starship and fly each one back to the freighter.

You don't need to fly each one back to your freighter, nor do they ever show up in your freighter's hangar. You can just summon them while you're on a planet.

They'll show up after you save and reload.

Ie fly into your freighter. Get out of your ship to initiate a save. Then load that save.

          Boom, ships in freighter.

Not true, I have plenty of missing ships that haven't made it to my freighter after many saves.

Another issue I'm having is that my frighter won't warp even with fuel. 86ly should be well within the range but it says "no hyperdrive fuel "

For a game that is about exploring and finding new worlds I sure seem to spend a lot of time extracting dust and carbon and some other shit to get enough fuel to go explore new worlds. I wish more of this crap was automated or the crafting a bit more helpful. If I have all the raw ingredients to make a Warp Core, why do I have to inventory juggle crap to build all the base components first, THEN assemble the Warp Core. All the small things become tedious to me after a while and I quit being enthralled with seeing and exploring new stuff and I'm instead focused on finding those dumb things I need to get more fuel or oxygen and get the fuck off planet.

I think I'm doing it wrong...

I think at some point you get auto mining equipment. You also get resources from frigate missions. I've started buying ferrite dust as I'm sick of mining it.
