Meteor Shards/Hop Rocks In Fortnite Season 4 Change Gameplay With Superpowers
This is likely only the beginning of new abilities players will gain throughout the season.
The comet that was hurtling toward Fortnite Battle Royale, signaling the arrival of Season 4, has hit the Dusty Depot. It turned the space into Dusty Divot, left behind a large shard behind, and spread around some smaller pieces of the comet as well. Those shards are called Hop Rocks and give players the ability to jump higher, likely serving as just the first of many superpowers being added to Fortnite throughout the season.
A large collection of the new Hop Rocks can be found in the destroyed Dusty Depot but will likely be spread around into other spaces, if they haven't already. It's not clear if the shards stack upon each other, but more will be revealed as we spend more time in-game.
