Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle Finds Jason Returning to Camp Crystal Lake for Puzzle Madness
This could be Jason Voorhees' cutest departure yet.
Slasher Jason Voorhees has been called many things, but "cute" usually isn't one of them. The legendary movie killer hasn't starred in a new movie for some time now but that doesn't mean he hasn't been kept busy doing other things. Tomorrow is Friday the 13th, and what better way to celebrate the day than to release a new game featuring Voorhees himself?
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is coming to iOS, Android, and Steam tomorrow from Blue Wizard Digital, the folks that brought you Slayaway Camp, which was a bit of a cult hit that even nabbed the attention of Friday the 13th series creator Sean Cunningham. This is an even more comedic take, with some of Jason's signature moves, now packed into a very cute little puzzle game.
Jason returns to Camp Crystal Lake, where the whole killing spree with his mother took place, and lurks around once more to kill some promiscuous teenagers. Only now, he can only be slid around in an isometric puzzle level to attack his victims. You might try and scare his victims using environmental traps like campfires or bear traps, or anything you possibly have at your disposal.
The end-goal is to kill off the "Final Girl" or "Final Guy," as you become the last one standing throughout a series of puzzles that become more complex as you complete more levels throughout the game. You'll travel to Manhattan all the way throughout even Victorian London for a twist.
The free-to-play title is out tomorrow, with additional Jason avatars, weapons, and episodes up for grabs for an additional fee. It looks like a ton of fun, even if Jason is a masked killer.
