Destiny 2 Development Roadmap Extended Into Seasons 3 and 4
Bungie has extended the Destiny 2 development roadmap with planned updates set to release all the way through September 2018.
One of the staples of modern video game support is keeping game communities up-to-date with information regarding upcoming releases, changes, and new features. Bungie has been keeping an active development roadmap for Destiny 2 dating as far back as the game's second season, and now the team has just extended the roadmap to include new features and changes expected to be introduced all the way through season 4 this coming September.
Speaking on a post made over on the Bungie website, game director Christopher Barrett spelled out some of the excitement felt by the development team regarding upcoming goals for Destiny 2 that reach not only into the summer but also the the weeks and months beyond.
"The team is very excited to extend the roadmap and share with you some of the big stakes we’re putting in the ground," he said. "Recent updates have focused on immediate issues to the live game, but in the coming months our vision for the future is converging with critical player feedback to deliver transformative changes to Destiny 2."
Barrett went on to say that the development team would be providing more information regarding the roadmap and several of its included goals "soon," including future plans to discuss other changes that the team "can't quite talk about yet." As things stand now, however, the crew at Bungie has been making strides to give players even more control over their specific loadouts and provide additional incentives to keep players returning to the game.
Much of the new content planned for Season 3 centers around the upcoming Warmind expansion, the likes of which is slated to provide players with "new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies." The expansion will also include new items and all-new activities, and players will be able to learn more on a live stream that will be hosted on Bungie's own Twitch page on April 24.
