Sure, Yacht Club Games has been working on the final piece of the Shovel Knight puzzle. But what if it turned out there was still more Shovel Knight on its way?

No, it's not the sequel. It's a retro throwback. Although considering Shovel Knight was originally an 8-bit throwback, maybe this is a retro step forward. Anyway, Yacht Club announced development of Shovel Knight 64.

Yeah, look at those crisp 64-bit graphics! The rounded polygons, the 3D visuals, the... wait a second... these aren't 64-bit visuals. They aren't 64-bit visuals at all. These aren't Nintendo 64-style graphics... they're Commodore 64-style graphics! Now that's a throwback!

For more information about the Commodore 64 version of Shovel Knight, be sure to visit the Yacht Club Games website, where they link to several sites with other Commodore 64 games.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
