The Soul Calibur series has a long tradition of bringing in guest fighters to compete in the legendary tournament. It looks like the upcoming Soul Calibur 6 will be no different from its predecessors as Bandai Namco has teamed up with CD Projeckt Red to bring the hero of the Witcher franchise, Geralt of Rivia to this latest iteration.

Geralt joins a long list of Soul Calibur celebrity cameos that includes the likes of Zelda's Link, comic book anti-hero Spawn, and Yoda and Darth Vader from Star Wars. The Witcher is one of the most successful franchises in gaming history and is known for its strategic gameplay, which involves using a mixture of traps, spells, and aggressive sword fighting skills to take on large monsters, as well as its compelling storyline. Geralt of Rivia seems like a perfect match for the Soul Calibur series thanks to his proficiency with a sword, but it's unsure if any of his trapping or mystical skills will carry over to his moves list, and I highly doubt he'll be seducing any of the characters this time around.

Soul Callibur 6 is set for release later this year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but there's no word on a specific month or date just yet.
