With 100 players able to jump into a game, one couldn't imagine Fortnite Battle Royale getting much bigger. But Epic Games had a surprise for everyone on Thursday. Not only is Fortnite Battle Royale set to release on mobile devices, but it's also going to get full cross-platform support with PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac.

"On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac," reads the Epic Games website. "Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates. Starting Monday, you can sign-up for the Invite Event on iOS. Support for Android will be coming in the next few months."

With the mobile version of Fortnite Battle Royale, players will be able to play with anyone from any of the aforementioned platforms. They'll also be able to jump from one version to the other and carry over their progress. Fortnite Battle Royale will be supported on any iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 or better device. Those users will need to upgrade to iOS 11.

Sign-ups are set to begin on the Fortnite website this Monday, March 12.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
