Fortnite Hunting Rifle Replaces Previously Touted Jetpack
The newest weekly item slated to land in Fornite is not the previously revealed jetpack, but instead the sniper-friendly Hunting Rifle.
The development team at Epic Games are working around-the-clock in an effort to keep Fortnite players happy by introducing a number of different weapons and items into the game. Previously, the studio had revealed the upcoming release of an exciting new jetpack; however, it seems a number of issues have delayed the equipment's launch. In its place, the Fortnite crew has revealed the upcoming release of a potent new weapon for sniper players in the form of the Fortnite Hunting Rifle, which some may recognize from the game's Save the World mode.
According to a post from the Epic Games team made over on the official Epic Games forum, the last-minute substitution to Fortnite's new weekly item boiled down to some unseen design issues with the jetpack, the likes of which will delay its release until further notice:
"This week’s new item is being changed from the Jetpack to the Hunting Rifle. We found a last minute design issue with the Jetpack that’s going to delay its launch and we’re working on correcting it.
"The Jetpack will lift off at a later time. Meanwhile, you’ll be able to enjoy lots of no-scopes with the new Hunting Rifle item and a new, lucky point of interest on the map."
We haven't yet gotten any in-game reveals of the new Hunting Rifle, but the game's forthcoming update does mention the new Lucky Landing point of interest that will be added to the game's popular Battle Royale map. Players can expect this as well as the formal debut of the Fortnite Hunting Rifle in the 3.1.0 update, which is slated to arrive in the coming weeks.
