ELEAGUE Names Twitch Exclusive Streaming Partner
Starting with this Friday's ELEAGUE Major: Boston, the only place to watch Turner's esports broadcasts online will be through Twitch.
Turner and IMG's ELEAGUE esports venture has entered a new year and with a new year come some new partnerships. ELEAGUE's biggest announcement on Wednesday involves one of its streaming partners, which will now become its exclusive streaming partner.
While ELEAGUE has previously streamed on Twitch and other streaming services, things are about to change going forward. Twitch will now be the exclusive home to ELEAGUE, starting with this Friday's ELEAGUE Major: Boston event. Turner and IMG were pleased to see the viewer numbers on Twitch, which set a record for highest concurrent views during the ELEAGUE Major Grand Final last year, with over a million viewers.
Prior to this announcement, ELEAGUE events could also be viewed on YouTube. The latter service is currently reeling from the loss of ESL One and the CS:GO Pro League, which are now heading to Facebook Live. ELEAGUE events can still be viewed directly from the ELEAGUE website, which offers its proprietary "ELEAGUE Game Command" mosaic video player. Select ELEAGUE events will also be featured on TBS.
In addition to the Twitch announcement, ELEAGUE also announced extensions for its current marketing partnerships. This includes HyperX, Dell, and Alienware.
