Nintendo isn't a company that shies away from the occasional sale — last Black Friday, players were treated to special deals on the new Super Mario Edition 3DS, what was then the latest in a line of specially-designed 3DS hardware bundles. So far this year, players have learned about Nintendo's new Zelda-themed 2DS as well as the upcoming Nintendo New 3DS XL Super NES Edition, which wraps the 3DS hardware up in an old-school SNES-themed shell.

While we'd love to say that both of these consoles will be marked down this Black Friday, the weeks and days leading up to Black Friday sales events are generally shrouded in mystery; after all, nothing fuels the drive to buy like a very brief opportunity for deep discounts. Fortunately, we have gotten an early look at some of the Black Friday sales on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS hardware being offered by major retailers, and so far, things are looking good.

The Best Black Friday 2017 Deals On Nintendo 3DS XL and 2DS

Nintendo has a fair bit of new hardware for eager fans to snatch up or wrap up this holiday season, including the company's new variation of the old 2DS hardware, the clamshell-based Nintendo 2DS XL, which retails for $149.99. Players and parents alike also have the chance to pick up the recently-revealed Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Nintendo 2DS bundle, which retails for $79.99 and couples together the remake of the 1998 Legend of Zelda classic with an old slate-style 2DS decked out in a special green-and-yellow color scheme.

There are also plenty of new Nintendo 3DS game releases to keep an eye out for, too, including Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition, and Metroid: Samus Returns. Though we can't confirm any deals on these games yet, they're sure to be at the top of 3DS players' wishlists this holiday season.

Now, onto the deals. We've so-far gotten a look at Black Friday 2017 offerings from both Target and Best Buy, and there are already several noteworthy sales to look forward to on big titles like Super Smash Bros 3DS, Pokemon Omega Ruby, and Kirby Planet Robobot.

Amazon is yet to release its Black Friday 2017 deals, but there's still reason to check out some of their current discounts: namely, interested buyers can compare Amazon's prices to the Black Friday discount provided by other retailers to get a feel for the biggest price differences.
