Eh, I don't know, I kind of disagree I mean why not if it's possible? Get more people to play a great game, and for those of us who have played it and love it, an excuse to play again in a different way (on the go). I had a great time playing Doom 3 on my Shield tablet (I didn't even really like it when I played on PC haha), and I'd love to play NuDoom on the go.

Its about 3x faster than the prior gen consoles. They'd need to really strip back texture sizes from PC/PS4/Xbone but its more than capable of running it.
I mean, they could get GTA V or Rise Of The Tomb Raider if there was the motivation to do so. According to Digital Foundry, Skyrim on Switch is running the enhanced edition way better than the vanilla version did on the 360/PS3-

Certainly. The point is that neither the 360 nor the PS3 could run it at native HD resolutions at 30fps (the PS3 version in particular had major performance and resolution issues) while the Switch does native HD at a locked 30fps with no frame pacing issues.
The fact that the Switch has a more modern GPU and eight times the amount of faster RAM as the older systems certainly helps. Its not a PS4 or XB1 but mobile hardware is a lot more capable than I think some people realize.
If there was a Switch with Apple's A11X, oh man...

I think a lot of Switch guys are also big PC guys. I know me and Milleh both have uber PCs, and most PC gamers here are rocking midrange systems and up. It makes some of the ports a little redundant unless you really want that portability and flexibility.
For me it makes the most sense for AAs and indies. AAAs I'm playing on my PC no matter what. I am glad that publishers are taking the Switch so seriously though. Skyrim isn't even out and Bethesda is going all in.-

...that... might sell me honestly. I'm on the fence on Doom. I love Doom. I'd love to replay Doom. But I'm not sold on the necessity of having it portable. That said, my god I can't wait for others to experience it there. It's an awesome game for the platform. And a Metroid Varia suit for the Doomslayer would be really freaking cool.

Not sure if this is cool or sad or what but I really like Skyrim when I've played it, both the original on the PC and the remaster but I've never really played a ton of them and I'm wondering if I had the game on Switch if I'd play it more.
So I'm totally buying Skyrim on the Switch, either because that's where I'll finally play a ton of it or because I just needed to buy it once again. -
I'm not big on modern fps games on console, considering portable mode I think that the original doom 1+2 would have made a better port (see gba) for a handful of dollars it would have been an instant buy for mobile gaming.
I'm glad its ther for people to buy but I paid 500€ for a 1070 to play witcher3/doom etc
the switch is not my preferred console for AAA/FPS and other genres its strenght lies in portability for indy games (or docked, energywaste is considerable so I don't need to run my full rig to play oxenfree/hollow knight).
I would rather have a persona 5 golden on the switch or original fps games like splatoon/metroid whiuch are designed around the capabilities.
The switch is nobodys main console on this site but maybe the most loved/versatile.
