Apple Watch Series 3 Announced with Built-In Cellular
The next generation of Apple Watch is coming soon.
Tuesday's Apple Event saw the unveiling of the next generation of Apple Watch. The Apple Watch Series 3 already stands out from its predecessor with built-in cellular included.
The new Apple Watch Series 3 (set to be the same size as the Apple Watch Series 2) will include a new dual-core processor that will offer 70 percent processing speeds. This will enable a talking Siri and allow users to carry up to 40 million songs, as well as an 85 percent faster WiFi connection and 50 percent greater battery efficiency.
The cellular feature was also demonstrated on stage, with an actual phone call being made through the Watch.
The Apple Watch Series 3 comes on the heels of the announcement of WatchOS 4. This will include Apple Heart Study, in conjuction with Stanford University, to help users with high-intensity workouts.
The Apple Watch Series 3 will also feature a version without cellular, for those looking for a simple WiFi version. Pre-orders for the new Apple Watch will begin on September 15 and will go on sale on September 22.
