Oxenfree soon will let you discover just how wrong an island adventure can go on the Nintendo Switch.

Night School Studio, the studio responsible for indie hit Oxenfree, has announced the game is on its way to the Nintendo Switch. The word came through the company’s official Twitter account.

Lately, a number of indie developers have enjoyed revealing that their biggest hits are on the way to Switch by posting an image of the game running on the hardware, which is more or less what Night School Studio did. It also included cryptic text to accompany the image: “-.-. --- -- .. -. --. / ... --- --- -.”

Oxenfree, a hauntingly brilliant supernatural thriller that details the misadventures of some youths who accidentally open a ghostly rift during an island party, originally released on January 15, 2016. It has since been ported to a variety of platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but this will be its first stop on Nintendo hardware.

"What Nintendo has done with Switch continues to boggle our brains over at Night School. Honestly, I wish every game was on Switch,” said Sean Krankel, founder and co-creative director at Night School Studios. “We're supporting full touch and controller inputs, so players can seamlessly interact with Oxenfree in more ways than ever before. And the game looks and sounds gorgeous on the hardware. After spending the last few months creating this version, we are confident that Switch is a perfect way to experience Oxenfree."

The game would have made a great addition to Nintendo’s Nindies showcase video it streamed earlier this week, but Nintendo did say at the time that other games would be coming from its development partners. Oxenfree is clearly one of them. Are there any other recent indie hits you would especially like to see announced for Switch?
