In New Overwatch Junkertown Map, Two Teams Enter, One Team Leaves
Just need Tina Turner voicing the Queen and a Mel Gibson-lookalike to complete the Max Max comparison.
Overwatch continues to push out new content for its highly popular game, and this time it is getting a new escort map called Junkertown, home of Roadhog and Junkrat. The sad part about this map is no Tina Turner or Mel Gibson-like characters to complete the Bartertown look and feel.
The accompanying short animated clip gives a rather hilarious background to the map, with Roadhog and Junkrat being unceremoniously cast out of the enclave by the queen and its denizens. Junkrat, with the quiet assistance of Roadhog then embarks on an elaborate plan to get back into town, while escaping with a bunch of gold. Unfortunately, things don't go quite as planned.
Blizzard describes the new map as "Constructed from the remains of a destroyed omnium, it's now the home to a band of lawless scavengers known as the Junkers, led by their cutthroat Queen. When they aren’t pillaging the omnium's skeleton for anything of value, the Junkers blow off steam in the Scrapyard - a massive gladiatorial arena whose combatants fight for glory."
However, the speech by the queen in the accompanying video seems better fit for Tina Turner in Beyond Thunderdome. You can almost picture Junkers surrounding the map chanting "Two teams enter, one team leaves."
The new map is now on live servers, so channel your best Mad Max when escorting that payload of gold and explosives to the queen. Who, knows, this could make a good Deathmatch map as well.
