Warner Bros. had its hands full debuting the latest trailers for Justice League, Ready Player One, and more at San Diego Comic-Con but they didn't leave gamers without a bit of a treat. Middle Earth: Shadow of War's October 10th release date is getting closer and, up until now, gameplay shown for the game revolved around the advances made to the unique Nemesis system

A new story trailer for Shadow of War gives insight into the sequel's story and also reveals the Great Spider Shelob but arachnophobes can rejoice: She's taken a new, humanoid form.

Shelob's new form is technically an old form, as the Shadow series takes place between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings tales. She appears with information for lead character Talion that she shares via visions, but her guidance seems to drive a rift between Talion and the wraith ring-maker Celebrimbor. The trailer shows that the wraith and Shelob eventually come to blows in a cutscene, so players may have to take down one of Middle Earth's darkest creatures at some point in the game.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War arrives on Xbox One X, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC (Windows Store and Steam), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro on October 10, 2017. Be sure to check out the Nemesis Forge update for Shadow of Mordor so your most loyal follower and greatest arch-nemesis both transfer to the new game.
