Everything We Know About Assassin's Creed (Origins?)
All of the tidbits of info on the next Assassin's Creed game we've gathered before it's official reveal.
In 2016, Ubisoft decided to take a year off from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Although the latest release, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was well received by reviewers, the general audience was starting to suffer from some serious franchise fatigue. Taking this extra year gives Ubisoft much more time to craft and develop a quality game. We can most likely expect this project to hit stores this holiday season.
One thing that’s become a staple of Ubisoft’s projects is how their details always seem to leak out online before they officially reveal anything. This tradition continues with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game as screenshots seem to validify reports that the game would be set in Ancient Egypt. The screenshot shows a character steering a small wooden boat, this could mark the return of the boat feature first introduced back in AC3. It has also been heavily rumored and reported by several sources that the subtitle of this next game would be “Origins.” If true, this would imply the game has some sort of prequel dynamic, or that they’re “going back to their roots”, which has become a popular trend among franchises lately.
Ubisoft already has an E3 slot for next wednesday, where they’ll be showing an “unannounced game.” It’s very likely that this is where we’ll get our first official look at the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. As these details emerge, we will have them hot and ready for you over at Shacknews.com, so stay tuned for more information on Assassin’s Creed Origins coming out of E3!
